Weekends of the 15th and 22nd

Snow, snow, and even more snow. There is somewhere between one and two feet of snow on the ground anywhere you look at Midian right now, which makes driving difficult to put it mildly. Tina and I only managed to get out by putting chains on the truck's tires, loading an old cast iron tractor wheel onto the tailgate, and then having one of us sit on the edge of the wheel to hold down the back end while the other drove. Skeeeettttcccchhhhyyyy. But we pulled it off like we always do. At least we're getting better at this stuff; the previous weekend we had to pull the truck out using out tractor.

The livingroom floor is down and looking nice if I do say so myself. Tina and I gutted the hell out of the ranch house's nasty-ass kitchen. Whoever owned the place before us must have fried every single of their meals for twenty five years without ever cleaning the place once. We cut through walls, stripped out old flooring, scrubbed down the washer and drier, pulled out shelving; the works. Then we put down wood flooring and very soon we will hook up a propane stove, a wood burning stove, and a propane refrigerator. The place is starting to look a whole lot more livable.

And every trip it's getting better.
